When you are considering waxing your body and trusting someone to put hot wax on your face or in the brazilian area, don’t be shy about asking questions. Trust is important!

Make sure you know what service you want. If you want a brazilian wax, schedule it; don’t decide later you want to add a full leg wax as the esthetician probably won’t have time to do both.

Let your hair grow!!! I once had a client who came to me for a brazilian and when it came to my starting to wax, I looked down and there was no hair. I asked her when was the last time she shaved and she said that morning. I had to send her away without her brazilian waxing and she was disappointed. The hair in the area to be waxed should be at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch long and for most people that is 2 to 3 weeks growth.

Prepare yourself. If you are waxing anywhere on your face don’t use any Vitamin A, retinol products and in some cases Vitamin C for at least 2 weeks before. If you are on Accutane it has to be stopped for 6 months before waxing can be performed. Otherwise you risk losing some skin in the waxing process.

Manage the pain. Take a couple of Advil 30 minutes before your appointment and afterwards use hydocortisone to help with redness, bumps or itching.
