Whats Up With Male Infertility?

Follow

On average the average man makes about 1,000 sperm every heartbeat.  As listed in the Wall Street Journal infertility which is the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected sex affects one in six couples and in 40% of cases the problem is with the man.  About 70% of cases are treatable and in 25% of cases it could have been avoided if better lifestyle choices had been made.  Here are some of the factors to consider: Cigarettes, heavy alcohol drinking, and drugs and medication can lower levels of testosterone needed to make sperm.   Men trying to conceive should avoid hot baths, hot tubs, and tight pants because even heating the testicles a few degrees can hamper sperm production.  Any trauma to the testes and sexually transmitted diseases through inflammation can block ducts that carry sperm.  Obesity can lower libido which raises estrogen and lowers testosterone . Strenuous such as running and prolonged bike rides on a narrow seat can hurt fertility.  Keep your cell phone in a breast pocket.
