Anxiety: A Disease that Should Be Taken Seriously

Anxiety is a normal emotion that everyone experiences at some point.  However, when this anxiety leads to an anxiety or panic attack, then you could possibly have anxiety disorder.  Anxiety can be caused by stress from school, work, personal relationships or financial issues.  Additionally, it can be a side effect from medication, lack of oxygen, or use of certain illegal drugs.  Anxiety is normally characterized by increased heart rhythms, shortness of breath and dizziness.

There are many ways to manage stress such as psychotherapy, regular exercise, relaxation techniques, social support, and personal hobbies.  Some cases of anxiety disorder are more severe than others and the proper medical care may be needed.
